Whenever I tell someone I spent two and half weeks in the Dominican Republic during Christmas, I know they immediately think “Then why the heck aren’t you more tanned?!”. Well, there’s a perfectly good explanation for that. I only went to the beach four times. The rest of the time was spent in bars, restaurants and dancing to “Telephone” and “Menea La Chapa” in the car. I even squeezed in some shopping. The thing is, Santo Domingo is by the sea, but the closest beach, Boca Chica, is maybe half an hour away. Boca Chica is (or at least was, the last time I was there) a hassle; it’s crowded, kind of dirty and filled with beach sellers. On the other hand, the beach is pretty and you won’t get bored from watching all the people and the music playing really, really loud.
So whenever we went to to the beach, it was to Juan Dolio, which is about 45 minutes [crazy] driving from the capital. You can either spend the day in one of the beach restaurants at Playa Juan Dolio, go to the public beach or, if you know someone who is a member, stay at one of the many beach clubs along the beach. These photos were taken at Club Hemingway.
Sevilla is being crazy windy and rainy today. Kind of makes me wish I was at this beach instead of sitting inside studying for my first exam on Monday… Oh, wishes wishes…

im clearly living in the wrong country during winter time. :) gorgeous photos!
