One of the things I love the most about getting visitors, besides the obvious fact that I want to see that person and showcase “my” beautiful city, is going out to eat and have drinks, and it’s always a perfect opportunity to try out new places. Before my best friend came from Norway to visit me last week, I had written down places I wanted to try months before; places that I had been recommended or that I had passed by and had spiked my curiosity. Some of these places were disappointing and did not live up to the expectations, and others exceeded them by miles!
A lot of people who visit Seville go for a drink at the rooftop bar at the design hotel EME where you have the Cathedral and La Giralda so close to you that you feel like you can almost reach out your hand and touch. Although I love this place, the drinks are a bit pricy (12,50€ for a cocktail) and it can get pretty crowded up there. So I was extremely happy when we stepped out on the rooftop bar of the Hotel Inglaterra in Plaza Nueva. You won’t get the cathedral in a close-up, but instead a beautiful view of the whole city which is so spectacular at night. The drinks are a bit more economic (9€), and it is more spacious and has a very relaxed atmosphere. You’ll seriously never want to leave (we were almost thrown out)!
