Drinking Coconut Water On Ipanema Beach

Drinking Coconut Water On Ipanema Beach
How to describe the legendary Brazilian beach Ipanema? I’d say… coconuts (duh), bikini sellers, beautiful people everywhere, luxury hotels, and amazing light right before sunset.

Although we stayed at Copacabana, several days we took the 30 minutes-or-so walk up to Ipanema. I personally preferred it over Copacabana; it is more modern, has those peculiar mountains in the background, and ahem… veeery handsome surfers. There is also a big rock next to the beach where you can go up and see the sunset over Ipanema. That was pretty spectacular. I’ll let the photos do the rest of the talking.

If you’ve ever been to Rio de Janeiro, did you get a favorite? Ipanema or Copacabana?

  1. Um…your photos are beautiful! I’m actually heading to the tropics (Jamaica) at the end of this month and seeing your photos renewed my excitement for my upcoming vacation.

Visiting from the SITS board but glad I did because you got yourself a new reader.

  2. Beautiful pictures. Looks like a very relaxing place to spend time. Unfortunately we don’t get to travel much & I don’t even own a passport to travel. Maybe some day, until then I love reading & looking at pictures about all of the beautiful places around the world.

  3. Wow, It looks beautiful there. I am so jealous right now since we are suppose to get hit with yet another snow storm. Some day I will make it to the tropics.

    Your pictures are stunning!

  4. Beautiful pictures! Brazil is one of the few places left on my travel bucket and these photos made me want to go even more! Looks like you had a lot of fun! #SITSBlogging.

  5. Ok – that was officially painful, because as I write this it is expected my area will get 2-4 inches of snow tonight. Not only that, but I’ve never really been “to the beach”. I took myself on a trip once, to the Jersey Shore, and the water was cold. Seeing your pictures, I can only to hope to travel to these places someday. #SITSblogging
