It was pretty easy to decide on my Bottom Three Costa Rica, but the Top 10… Uff… I’d much rather make a Top 100! However, that would probably be a bit too much, so I’ll just stick with the Top 10 and hope I don’t regret not including some really awesome places and activities. Let’s start with the positions 6-10:
6. Morning yoga class at the Ylang Ylang Beach Resort in Montezuma
Waaaaa!! If I had a studio like this close to me, I’d become a super yogi and wake up at 6 AM every morning. Besides having an incredibly beautiful studio, it was also a really good class with an excellent instructor. The resort also has a really nice restaurant where I had the best veggie burger ever! Yum!
7. The waterfall in Montezuma
Despite the warning sign at the entrance, Marita and I decided to challenge death and started on the hike to this beautiful waterfall with refreshing and almost cold waters. From this waterfall the trail continues to other waterfalls, but the first hike was enough excitement for us.
8. Budda Café in Tortuguero
Who would have thought that in a small village only available by boat I would find the best hummus I’ve ever tried in my whole life? The drinks were pretty perfect as well. (I was too busy enjoying the hummus to take any photos.)
9. Monkeys, monkeys and other cool animals
10. Fresa Coladas at El Avión Restaurant in Manuel Antonio
I loved the concept of the restaurant, which is built around, on and inside an authentic army plane, and the view was simply breathtaking! However, the service here was pretty poor and I can’t even remember what I ate (which usually is a bad sign). Buuuut… the drinks here were really, really, really good! Especially, the Fresa Coladas. Ñam!
